One of the favorite restaurants on the island continues to evolve and has exciting news of a new location coming soon! After 21 amazing years in their current location, the Purple Olive team is packing up their knives and heading to a new home later this year—one with a lot of heart and history. In June Chef-owner Peter Kenney acquired the Gypsy Cab Company location on Anastasia Boulevard. For those who don’t know, Chef Kenney, was once the Chef de Cuisine at Gypsy working under founding Chef-owner Ned Pollack. It’s a full-circle moment, and the Purple Olive team is excited to bring new life to the space with the same values they have always stood by: scratch-made food, honest service and a strong connection to our local community. With the new space, they also are able to offer more seating, including an outdoor patio, full-liquor bar and private dining space. Purple Olive will continue to operate at their current location in St. Augustine Beach until they make the transition in late summer/early fall.
Chef Kenney’s menu reflects all of the experiences and influences he had along the way of his culinary journey, with a focus on French, Italian and Latin cuisines. With a passion for sourcing ingredients from locals farmers and producers, favorite menu items include Grilled Lamb Lollipops; Sautéed Shrimp with Garlic, White Wine and Lemon; Lobster Bisque; and luscious Flourless Chocolate Cake. Vegetarian/Vegan/Gluten-Free options always available. Pair your meal with an outstanding selection of fine wines and craft beer. Serving dinner 6 days a week: Tuesday through Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. Purple Olive's popular $22 prix fixe 3-course menu will is offered Tuesdays open to close and from 4 to 5 p.m. the rest of the week. |
